Steve Jobs Dies

Founder and former CEO of Apple Inc. Steve Jobs dies at the age of 56 years after years of fighting against cancer and other diseases. The death of Best American CEO was announced by Apple Inc. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 evening.

As quoted by Associated Press, Apple called the intelligence, passion, energy of Jobs became the source of tremendous innovation.

As we all know, Jobs experienced health problems and look thinner since the mid-2000s. He was treated for pancreatic cancer and underwent a liver transplant in 2009. Because of his health, Jobs had to take a sabbatical from the company and choose the retreat of the CEO in August 2011.

Step down as CEO of Apple Inc., Jobs was replaced by Tim Cook who currently serves as Chief Operating Officer.

In his letter Wednesday, August 24, 2011 to the Board of Directors of Apple, Jobs said only resigned his position, but not as a member of the Board of Directors and employees of Apple.

Although retired, he did not mention because of illness. Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco on February 24, 1955. In the late 1970s he founded Apple with Steve Wozniak and Mike Markkula.
