Volvo is better known by the image of luxury and safety features. But in an era of environmentally friendly vehicles, Volvo inevitably have to compromise. That's what makes Volvo XC60 Plug-in Hybrid.
This SUV offers hydride technology, which combines electric and gasoline power. Volvo XC60 hybrid gasoline engine equipped with a powerful turbocharged four-cylinder 260 horsepower.
Gasoline engines drive the front wheels, while the electric motor to drive the rear wheels. Electric motor uses 12kWh lithium-ion battery that can be charged in 3.5 hours with a voltage of 220V or 7.5 hours with a voltage of 110V.
In a test last month, the XC60 hybrid capable of running as far as 56km only use electric motors. XC60 Plug-in Hybrid Concept will be introduced to the public at the Detroit Auto Show next week.
