Prince Harry Promoted to Captain

Prince Harry has been promoted to captain in the Air Force after completing five years of compulsory military service.

Earlier, Prince Harry is known as a lieutenant and he is the Apache helicopter pilot trainees. According to a statement issued by the Palace St. James, now Prince Harry will be known as Captain Harry Wales.

Harry was also awarded the Badge of Apache on Thursday, April 14. These badges marked the end of an eight-month training period that includes flight training and practice in school during the day and night.

Harry has now qualified to fly aircraft without an instructor. Besides, he also made progress in practice using the weapons in the Air Force pilot training as military.

Harry entered the military in April 2006 after undergoing training for 44 weeks at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, in southwest London. He has also been stationed in Afghanistan during 2007 and 2008 as an air controller.

Harry also will be the best man at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on 29 April.
