Tokyo Hit by Earthquake Measuring 6 on the Richter Scale

An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck eastern Japan on Thursday night. Strength of the quake could shake the tall buildings in Tokyo. However, the earthquake did not cause damage and no tsunami warning.

According to Japan Meteorological Board, the earthquake was centered at depth of 70 kilometers off the coast Cheba region, at 22:37 local time. The United States Board Earthquake mention the size of the earthquake was 6.1 on the Richter scale.

Large earthquakes and tsunamis have previously attacked the northeastern Japan on 11 March. The quake caused more than 27,000 people dead and missing, also crippled reactors of nuclear power.
