Wall Street Affected By The Tsunami In Japan

Wall Street stock market was volatile after the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan. Stock prices also weakened, but still in strong trends.

Weakening occurred in the commodity sector, particularly the oil sector. Market players worry about commodity production in Japan disrupted.

The weakening stock market occurred just before closing. Fortunately, Wall Street could still rebound. Dow Jones rose 59.79 points, or 0.5 percent, to 12044.40 position. The S & P 500 grew 9.17 points, or 0.7 percent, to 1304.28 position. The Nasdaq index rose 14.59 points, or 0.5 percent, to 2715.61 position.
